LOGAN SARGEANT EDIT REVEALED
This is the sixth episode of the developer diary Docuedit Formula 1 2024, where I will reveal more details about a new edit I’ve made about the American ex Formula 1 driver: Logan Sargeant. The Logan Sargeant edit is divided in two sections. In the first section you will be able to see the accident that caused the end of the Formula 1 career of Logan Sargeant in free practice 3 of the
Dutch Grand Prix. Also You will be able to see some of the accidents Logan Sargeant had that justify the reason why he is not in Formula 1 anymore. During that section of the edit you will be able to see also different highlights of the season and different interviews where Logan is talking.
In the second part of the edit you can see the onboard camera of the Alexander Albon’s car in Australia, where, in this 2024 season, Alexander suffered a big crash in free practice, damaging the chassis of their Williams car. The chassis was not possible to fix for the rest of the weekend. In that way, Williams only had one car to compete for the rest of the weekend in Australia. The team principal, James Vowles, decided to give the car that was driving Logan to Alex. Logan Sargeant has to follow the rest of the weekend from the pit wall because of that decision. During the edit I show you one of the interviews when James Vowles explains that decision and why he decides to give Alex the Logan Sergeant’s car.
why I included that episode in Australia in the Logan Sargeant edit, involving his teammate Alex Albon and the team principal of Williams Racing, James Vowles? Because I want want to pay tribute to Logan for what he did: to accept that his car will be given to Alexander Albon. I want to show to the world that Logan Sargeant, maybe, has not level to be in Formula One, but he did an extraordinary thing as he did in Australia, giving to Alex his car for that weekend. This is a very beautiful gesture from Logan.
The third part of the edit will be focused in the Sargeant’s teammate, Alexander Albon, in that Australian Grand Prix where he was driving the Logan Sargeant’s car. Its a short race edit it where you will be able to see the race Alex did with that car and the position where he finished in that race. So the structure of the edit is:
1 – Logan Sargeant crash in the Dutch Grand Prix and some highs and lows of his season including some post race and qualifying interviews.
2 – The polemic of the Australian Grand Prix, the moment Logan has to give to his teammate, Albon, his Williams car due to the accident Alex had in Practice 1.
3 – The edit of the Alexander Albon’s race in the Austrlian Grand Prix driving the Logan Sargeant’s car.
STORY BEHIND THE SONG CHOSEN FOR THE SARGEANT EDIT
this edit have a very let’s say a particular song that I used for this Logan Sargeant edit, that you can listen in the video below:
As you can listen the song have controversial language at some point. During the edit I’ve censored some words, avoiding swearing. To censor these controversial words I used the sound of an eagle as censor sound. why an eagle? Let me explain the full story first.
One day, before to start making the Logan Sargeant edit I founded, randomly, an account on the Social Media platform X named as: Logan Sargeant updates. In this account every time Logan Sergeant finish a race or qualifying session in Formula 1, post a very short video with the result of Logan in that session, using, to say in some way, very American visuals:

When I saw that video post on that X account, I thought on it song make my edit about Sargeant. The song talks about Americat’s talking about America, and Logan Sargeant is an American driver. What I did after discover that song was to contact to the owner of the X account to know the name of the song. As you can see in the image below he did not respond me, but another user did it, telling me the name of the song, that is a bit controversial as well: America F*** Yeah.
Once I knew the name of the song I went to searching to YouTube, finding a playlist about this song. After found it I understood where it comes from the song: from a movie called Team America. That a movie was released in 2004 or 2005 (I don’t remember) the movie was made by the creators of South Park, that is a very famous cartoon series made for adults, where the language is very rude, using controversial language as in the song mentioned before. My idea was to use that song for my edit despite the bad language, but listening different songs of the movie in the YouTube playlist I founded, one of them caught my attention:
That song you can listen just above is the song that I’m using for the Logan Sargeant edit. It’s a different version of the America F**** yeah you have listened before, being much sad and using bad words as well. When I listened that song I thought: Is this one the song I need. I’m making an edit about Logan Sargeant, which is driver that is being fired from Formula 1, which is a very sad situation for the protagonist of my edit. This song fits perfectly for that edit.
After explain the full story of how I’ve found the song for my Logan Saregant edit in the Docuedit F1 2024 I can reveal why I used the sound of an eagle to censor the bad language of the song. The idea was an inspiration from the montage I watched in the X account Logant Sargeant updates. During that montage you can see an eagle and the sound of an eagle as well. The eagle is an animal that represents America. So it’s another touch for my edit to identify Logan Sargeant as American driver. That’s it.
