REVEALING OLD SILVER WAR F1 LOGOTYPE AND GRAPHICS | NICO ROSBERG VS LEWIS HAMILTON DOCUMENTARY

The Silver War F1 documentary is also known thanks to the graphics and logotype. The Silver War F1 logo published for the first time evolved through the years. In addition, Dani Lozano (FLoz) created a prototype version before to publish the documentary. That version was not public, until today, when it will be revealed for the first time.

PROTOTYPE VERSION

What you gonna see now it’s the first time that I will show you on public. It will be the first design that I made for the thumbnail. The cover image of the documentary: The Silver War. This is something that I never published because this version was the first prototype. And it’s this one:

This is the first thumbnail that I designed for The Silver War. As you can see there’s a lot of different things. It’s more basic and simple. As a graphic designer I evolved as well. In those times, in 2016, I just finished my studies of graphic design. The logo, you can see how simple is, with the Mercedes logo at the background in white, very, very light, and the letters. The typography is the same, this is the only thing that I didn’t change. The photos of Hamilton and Rosberg are different as well. They are like transparent, with the cloudy background and the thunders at the back.

At the bottom of the picture the two Mercedes drivers. The cars are the Mercedes of the 2015 season, not the 2016 season. This is something that at the beginning I was thinking: Mm… Maybe I should change it but the problem was that I didn’t found a picture like it’s in this thumbnail design, with the 2016 cars. I really like this photo, I decided to maintain it. This version I made it when I was editing the documentary (June 2016) During the process, before to publish the documentary, I was improving this version a bit. And this was the result:

FINAL VERSION

If you are really veteran, and you watched my documentary on YouTube. Probably you will recognize this thumbnail. This is the thumbnail, the design that I upload with the original version of The Silver War to YouTube. I improved the cloudy background, the logo is different. I added the laurel crown for the first time. The Mercedes logo is a bit more shiny. In the first version is really basic. The Silver War letters are shadowed, and about the cars: I decided to maintain the color only in the cars. with the background in black and white. I changed the photos of Rosberg and Hamilton. Much better in my opinion than the previous version.

And the final one, the current thumbnail, that you can watch actually in the remastered version. I made it three years later to this one. Obviously I improved a lot, I was a much better graphic designer. I knew better techniques to create and edit images. This is the actual thumbnail that you can watch in the remastered version:

REMASTERED VERSION

There’s a big improvement, specially in the logo. I dedicated a lot of hours to remaster the logo. You can see the shine, the 3D textures, the letters, the laurel crown (shinning) It’s something that you can to see and to say that it’s really professional. Obviously three years later I had much more knowledge. I found cool Rosberg and Hamilton pictures, looking to the camera. About the cars: I would like to find a photo similar to the cars are on this thumbnail design, but with the cars in front view, 100%., not like this one, which it’s a bit moved to the right side. Anyway you can watch the difference. From the first version to the third:

THREE VERSIONS – COMPARISON

Also the logotype that represents The Silver War F1 documentary evolved in every new design. It’s like in life: Everyone evolves, in all aspects. In this case, as a creator of this documentary, I wanted to improve the experience, and the graphics are a very important part of this: To build and to create the story of The Silver War. I’m really proud of the progress, and I think this logo, the current one, and the thumbnail, represents exactly what I want to transmit and to show to the world with this documentary. The Silver War.
